Shaping and pressing

Trends in furniture production

Modern trends in furniture production today are no longer focused only on veneering, but on the contrary on pressing decorative and highly resistant materials such as HPL laminates, CPL foils (2D shape), stone veneers or decorative mats. The demand for durable surface materials called solid surface (artificial stone, Corian, LG Hi-Mac) is also rising sharply, especially from architects, interior designers and decorators. The demand for hot processing of these materials, i.e. their shaping, is also rising.

Advantages of membrane presses

  • Vacuum membrane presses are very variable and have a wide range of uses – pressing flat parts (doors), shaped parts (door frames), bent parts (chairs, arches, etc.). They will replace the hydraulic press in small and medium-sized joinery.
  • The classic heating elements in ADAMIK membrane presses have been replaced by fans with heating, which ensure not only faster and more even heating of the working area thanks to air circulation, but also save electricity.
  • The press is also equipped with the most powerful pump for fast air extraction from the working area. The speed of shaping into the desired shape is a fundamental element of success in thermoforming.
  • Thanks to these design changes, the membrane is also much less thermally stressed and its service life is extended.
  • The new system of anchoring the struts on the heating cover allows easier opening and closing of the press. With the previously used horizontal system, it was necessary to overcome resistance of up to 28 kg to open or close. With horizontal anchoring, the resistance value has been reduced to 8 kg. This advantage will be appreciated especially by operations where the press is used in mass production or where women work.

Membrane vacuum presses and their use

Membrane presses are a great helper wherever a mold is needed to produce a part. ADAMIK presses allow you to highlight the design of the furniture you produce.

If we look away from furniture production, our membrane presses are used in many other industries such as automotive, rail vehicles, production of equipment for points of sale, showrooms, hotels or restaurants.

The presses can be equipped with a rubber membrane (mainly for veneering) or a silicone membrane (working with solid surfaces).

Thermoforming

With ADAMIK membrane vacuum presses designed for thermoforming (hot forming), you can keep up with the latest trends and satisfy even the most demanding clientele. For comprehensive use, ADAMIK membrane vacuum presses can be supplemented with a heating oven.

Sublimation on vacuum presses

The ADAMIK company also offers vacuum membrane presses designed for sublimation. Large format sublimation on hard and formable surfaces brings a new dimension not only to the production of individualized furniture. The sublimation process is achieved by transferring the sublimation print to the surface of the material under heat in a vacuum. Sublimation printing can be applied to a wide range of hard surfaces such as aluminum, glass, metal, thermoplastics, HPL, ceramics and of course solid surface.
